Gillingham Dealer Jailed for Sawn-Off Shotgun and Massive Cocaine Haul
Drug Bust Nets Sawn-Off Shotgun and £5,500 Cash
A crackdown on drug crime in Medway ended with a bang as officers arrested 33-year-old Wade Guy from Firethorn Close, Gillingham. During a raid in April, police found a block of cocaine weighing 750 grams, digital scales, and a sawn-off shotgun hidden in locked cases behind a kitchen kickboard. Alongside, they seized smaller drug amounts, a Cartier watch, and nearly £5,500 cash stashed behind a mirror at a second property in Sittingbourne.
Guy Caught Red-Handed and Sentenced to Nine Years
Guy was snapped inside the Hillyard Close home when the search warrant was executed on 20 April. Initially denying all involvement, he later pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on 20 December 2019 to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of an illegal firearm.
Police Warn Drug Dealers: “We’ll Track You Down”
Detective Sergeant Jason Booth, Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “Guy initially denied any involvement with drug dealing or having a dangerous firearm in his possession but our investigation and compelling evidence soon proved otherwise. We will continue to proactively target dangerous offenders like Wade. Drug dealing has no place on our streets and the message is clear – we will track you down and bring you to justice.”
Guy was sentenced to nine years behind bars for his crimes, sending a firm warning to would-be criminals in the region.
