Teen Crashes Through House After 130mph Police Chase

A 19-year-old Bromley driver has narrowly avoided jail after a terrifying 130mph police chase ended with him smashing through a family’s home.

Wild Police Pursuit Ends in Townhouse Chaos

Samin Ahmed, from Tavistock Road, Bromley, was spotted by Sussex Police speeding near Hastings on February 16. Behind the wheel of his dad’s BMW, Ahmed hit a heart-stopping 130mph in a 60mph zone on the A2690 Coombe Valley Way. Ignoring blue lights, he performed risky overtakes before losing control on Church Lane, Westfield, and crashing into a residential property.

Family Escape Disaster as Home Smashed Up

The family had just left their living room moments before the crash. The smash caused an eye-watering £375,000 worth of damage, forcing them out for months while repairs took place. Miraculously, no one was hurt. DNA on the airbag confirmed Ahmed was behind the wheel.

Police Slam Reckless Speedster

PC Lloyd Archer said, “Ahmed’s reckless driving was appalling. He risked his own life as well as the safety of every other road user and resident and is extremely lucky he did not cause a fatality that night. We are determined to catch offenders and prevent drivers from causing harm to themselves and innocent members of the public.”

Judge Issues Suspended Sentence and Driving Ban

On November 7 at Lewes Crown Court, Ahmed pled guilty to dangerous driving and criminal damage. He was handed an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, along with:

  • 250 hours of unpaid work
  • 15 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement sessions
  • A two-year driving ban
  • A £187 victim surcharge and £1,000 court costs

Ahmed’s reckless stunt serves as a stark warning about the dangers of high-speed police chases and the devastation they can cause.
