Two Robberies in Hours Shake Maidstone Streets
Just before midnight on 27 July, a man strolling through a park near Knightrider Street was threatened by a familiar face. The attacker snatched his mobile phone and vanished.
Less than two hours later, chaos struck again. At an ATM on Lower Stone Street, another victim had cash stolen as it dropped from the machine.
Suspect Busted, Cops Assaulted During Arrest
Police quickly traced a suspect to a Knightrider Street address and made an arrest. But the drama wasn’t over—three officers were assaulted while escorting the man to the station.
Conal O’Hara Faces Serious Charges
Conal O’Hara, 30, of Lower Road, Maidstone, was charged with two counts of robbery and three counts of assaulting emergency workers. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 29 July and was granted conditional bail ahead of his Crown Court hearing on 21 August.
