Notorious Salisbury Shoplifters Banged Up After Sting Operation
Criminal Duo Locked Up
Dean Brown, 46, and Jodie Brown, 28, both from Bishopdown, have finally been slammed behind bars. They were handed 20 and 12 months respectively for a spree of shoplifting offences all across Salisbury.
Teamwork Nails the Crooks
The crackdown came after a fierce investigation by the Salisbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, with crucial backup from Response officers, city-wide CCTV, and local businesses linked through Salisbury BID.
“Dean and Jodie Brown’s offending has caused great stress and financial loss to many businesses in Salisbury, and they have shown total disregard for the impact they have had,” said Salisbury Neighbourhood Inspector Tina Osborn.
“Their convictions are a direct result of the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) work ongoing across the city. These individuals were identified and targeted through tactical meetings chaired by myself. This case shows the power of teamwork and the serious consequences of shoplifting. They will now serve time behind bars.”
Local Voices Praise Efforts
Dan Collins, Salisbury BID Operations Manager, said: “This result shows the strength of partnership working in Salisbury. By teaming up with Wiltshire Police, Salisbury City Council, and our local businesses, we’ve shared vital intelligence and acted fast.
“Our Business Crime Reduction Partnership thrives on collaboration. When businesses report incidents and partners take action, we get results. This case proves that collective effort cuts crime and keeps Salisbury safe and welcoming.”
Keith Jackson, Salisbury City Council’s CCTV Manager, added: “Our Public Space CCTV network plays a key role in fighting retail crime. Operators provided vital evidence leading to charges against Dean and Jodie Brown for multiple thefts.
“This outcome shows the power of teamwork between Salisbury City Council, Wiltshire Police, Salisbury BID, and local businesses – all united to combat shoplifting and protect our traders.”
