Met Police Officer Charged with Multiple Rape Counts
Serving PC Robert Wing Faces Gruesome Sexual Offence Charges
A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with a series of serious sexual offences, including four counts of rape.
PC Robert Wing, attached to Specialist Operations, was charged on Thursday, 24 July with:
- Four counts of rape
- Two counts of assault by penetration
- One count of sexual assault
He is due to appear at 1 on Wednesday, 27 August.
Allegations Span Three Years and Same Victim
The disturbing charges arise from alleged incidents between 2013 and 2016, all involving the same victim. Police say these acts reportedly took place while PC Wing was off duty.
Wing was first arrested on 1 November 2023 on suspicion of rape and was immediately suspended from duty.
Metropolitan Police Monitoring the Case
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and is actively monitoring the case.
“The charges are extremely serious and the matter is now before the courts. The officer remains suspended from duty,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
