Met Police Officer Charged with Sexual Assault
A serving Metropolitan Police officer from Bromley has been hit with a sexual assault charge. PC Christopher Gudgeon, 41, attached to the Met’s Central South Basic Command Unit, faces serious allegations.
Details of the Allegation
Gudgeon was charged by postal requisition on July 9. The charge relates to an alleged sexual assault that took place while he was off-duty in 2022. The incident reportedly involved inappropriate behaviour following a report made about the assault.
Force Responds and Officer Restrained
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is fully aware of the charges. PC Gudgeon has been placed on restricted duties pending the outcome of legal proceedings, meaning he is temporarily barred from full policing duties.

PC Gudgeon is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on July 31 to face the charges.
