High-Speed Mitsubishi Chase Ends in Orchard Abandonment
A driver gave police a heart-stopping run in Cliffe Woods on Monday, 12 September 2022. Between 2.40pm and 3pm, a Mitsubishi Shogun refused to stop for patrols on Town Road, tearing through narrow country lanes at breakneck speed.
Dangerous Overtakes and Off-Road Escape
The reckless driver overtook both a lorry and a car during the pursuit. The chase sped along Higham Road and Cooling Road before the vehicle careened off-road into a field. Officers later found the car abandoned in an orchard.
Man Arrested but Released Pending Investigation
Police deployed a helicopter to scour the area. They found and arrested a 37-year-old man from Rochester on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving. He has since been released pending further inquiries.
