Seven Arrested in Massive Traveller Site Raid Near Ryton-on-Dunsmore
In a dramatic pre-dawn swoop, over 100 police officers stormed Woodside Park traveller site near Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire, on Thursday, 22 May at 5:30 AM. The operation, intelligence-led and planned, saw multiple arrests, vehicle seizures, and warrants executed in response to mounting community concerns.
Who’s Been Busted?
- A 28-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and threats to kill, linked to a Nuneaton incident on 9 May.
- A 30-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested over a massive £25,000 shoplifting spree.
- A 39-year-old man faces theft charges after stolen goods were found in a caravan.
- A 34-year-old man was arrested for immigration offences.
- A 52-year-old man wanted for failing to appear in court over a GBH charge, and a 44-year-old arrested for failing to show up on drug driving charges also went down.
Several vehicles suspected to be stolen, involved in crime, or sporting false documents were impounded during the raid.
Protecting the Vulnerable
Warwickshire Police confirmed four individuals at the site, suspected victims of criminal exploitation, have been safeguarded.
“We will not tolerate criminality,” declared Chief Superintendent Jon Belcher. “We will use every power and tactic available to pursue and disrupt offenders and protect our communities.”
