Police Clampdown on Nuisance Drivers in Snodland and Larkfield This Weekend

Operation Details

From 6pm Friday 9 February to 9am Sunday 11 February 2024, police will patrol key hotspots to tackle dangerous driving and anti-social vehicle behaviour.

  • Brook Street, Sortmill Road, and the bypass in Snodland
  • New Hythe Lane, Leybourne Way, Lunsford Lane, Papyrus Way, and Bellingham Way in Larkfield
  • Nearby side roads, both public and private car parks and industrial estates

Why the Crackdown?

The move follows a surge in complaints about nuisance vehicles, dangerous driving and reckless skidding. Officers are stepping up to crack down on anti-social behaviour linked to unauthorised car meets and dangerous stunts on local streets.

Police Warn: Move On or Risk Vehicle Seizure

Inspector Terry Newman from the West Kent Community Safety Unit said:

“Residents have raised ongoing concerns about noise, skidding, and dangerous driving. We’re worried about the risk to other road users and the impact on the community’s quality of life.

The orders give our officers extra powers to move on anyone causing a nuisance, arrest repeat offenders, and seize vehicles if necessary.”

Expect heightened police presence across these areas this weekend. Persistent reckless drivers beware – the cavalry is coming down hard.
