Predator William Nutt Jailed for 18 Years
William Nutt was slapped with an 18-year prison sentence after a 12-day trial at Southwark Crown Court.
Serial Abuser Targeted Three Victims Over Nearly a Decade
Nutt, 62, from Week Street, Maidstone, committed horrific sexual offences against three separate victims between 1998 and 2007. The abuse only came to light years later, with reports filed to kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police between 2014 and 2016.
He faced 21 charges of sexual offences involving children. Despite pleading not guilty, he was convicted by the court.
Detective Praises Victims’ Courage
“Nutt subjected three vulnerable young victims to appalling crimes for his own gratification,” said Detective Sergeant Nicky Spicer of the North Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team.
“His denial during the trial forced victims to relive their ordeals in court. I commend the victims for their bravery in securing justice.”
Detective Spicer added: “This sentence shows our determination to pursue non-recent sex offences. We urge other victims to come forward — our specialist team won’t rest until offenders like Nutt are caught, no matter how long ago the crimes happened. Victims will be treated with the utmost care.”
