Kent Police Honoured for Crushing County Lines Drug Gangs
Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team stole the spotlight at the annual High Sheriff Awards on 17 March, winning special recognition for their relentless fight against crack cocaine and heroin dealers flooding communities across the county.
Top Brass Praise Team’s Grit and Impact
John Weir JP, High Sheriff of Kent, applauded the team’s front-line work tackling drug supply and protecting vulnerable young people caught in gang nets.
“Having spent time on the ground with these officers, I have no doubt this award gives them well-deserved recognition,” said Weir.
Chief Constable Alan Pughsley and Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott also joined the ceremony, praising the team’s tireless efforts to dismantle criminal networks and clean Kent’s streets.
“This team changes lives every day, sending a clear message that class A drugs and their dealers won’t be tolerated here,” said Chief Constable Pughsley.
Fighting Crime, Supporting the Vulnerable
Detective Superintendent Shaun White revealed the dual mission behind the squad’s work: arresting offenders and helping young victims pushed into drug dealing.
“This award validates our ongoing fight to wipe out class A drugs and protect vulnerable people in our communities,” said White.
The annual High Sheriff Awards, run by the Kent Community Foundation, shine a light on heroic efforts made to support Kent’s most disadvantaged.
