Sex Offender Jailed for Rape After Attacking Girl Near Nottingham Park
Convicted Sexual Offender Strikes Again
On the night of 18 May last year, a young girl was walking near Crown Island, Nottingham, when she encountered Humza Khan, 29, a man with a previous sexual assault conviction.
Khan quickly gained her trust and led her to a nearby park. There, he subjected her to a prolonged sexual assault.
CCTV and Phone Evidence Seal the Case
Police linked Khan to the crime scene using CCTV footage that captured him and his bicycle. He had even given the victim his mobile number before the attack.
During a controlled identity procedure, the victim positively identified Khan. Although he refused to answer questions during the police interview, Khan later pleaded guilty to rape.
Harsh Sentence and Lifetime Ban
At Nottingham Crown Court on 7 March, Khan was sentenced to nine years and three months behind bars. He was also slapped with a sexual harm prevention order, barring him from nearly all contact with children for 15 years.
On top of that, Khan must remain on the sex offenders’ register for life.
This sentence sends a clear message: repeat sex offenders in Nottingham will face tough justice.
