Sex Offender Jailed for 18 Years Over Shocking Child Abuse Case
Daniel Guest, 26, has been locked up for 18 years after a Birmingham Crown Court found him guilty of a sickening spree of sexual assaults on a young girl over five years. The Yardley Wood man’s twisted crimes have finally been brought to justice, thanks to the bravery of his victim.
Brutal Abuse Covered Up with Threats
Guest targeted the girl when she was under 16, repeatedly assaulting her and ordering her to stay silent. He cruelly told her no one would believe her if she spoke out. Yet, despite his threats, the victim showed incredible courage and reported the abuse, sparking a police probe that led to Guest’s arrest.
Convicted Despite Denials and Blame Shifting
During police interviews, Guest tried to dodge responsibility, accusing the girl of making up stories for attention. But police gathered solid evidence and, in May, he was convicted of child rape, sexual assault, and inciting a child to sexual activity—all grave offences.
Justice Served With Tough Sentence and Lifelong Sex Offender Status
The court handed down an 18-year jail term and ordered Guest to register as a sex offender for life. Detective Sergeant Nicky Simms praised the victim’s bravery and hailed the conviction as proof of West Midlands Police’s commitment to tackling child sexual abuse.
“We encourage anyone affected by similar crimes to come forward,” said DS Simms. “We provide specialised support every step of the way so victims can find their voice and help stop others being harmed.”
