Persistent Shoplifter Nabbed and Banned from City of London

A serial shoplifter has been handed 22 weeks behind bars and slapped with a two-year ban from the City of London following a spree of thefts and assaults.

Muggy Mohamad’s Crime Spree Exposed

Mohamad Ahmadpour, 37, from Colindale, Barnet, was convicted at Westminster Magistrates for multiple shop thefts and two assaults. The crook swiped items from top City stores like TK Maxx, Sainsbury’s, Co-op, and Cards Galore.

On 17 March 2024, Ahmadpour pinched two bottles of perfume from TK Maxx. When security guards caught him, he didn’t back down — instead, he punched one in the chest. Just weeks earlier, he spat at an enforcement officer in Tower Hamlets.

His theft tally included:

  • Two perfume bottles from TK Maxx
  • Cans of Red Bull from Co-op on 20 February
  • Boxes of chocolates from Sainsbury’s on 12 April
  • Eight umbrellas from Cards Galore on 17 May

City Police Get Tough with Criminal Acts

Ahmadpour also received a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) barring him from the Square Mile for two years.

Detective Sergeant Helen Bentley, City of London Police, said:

“Mohamad Ahmadpour was a persistent thief in the City of London. We hope this CBO reassures businesses, retail staff, and the public while deterring others from criminal activity.”

“The CBO helps protect communities from theft and anti-social behaviour. We take these offences seriously and will bring offenders in the City to justice.”

Ahmadpour’s jail sentence and ban send a clear message: crime won’t be tolerated in London’s financial heart.
