Social Media Streamer Banged Up for Racist Rants

Thomas Morris, 25, aka CodComedyTJ, from Middleton, has been locked up for broadcasting shocking racist abuse online. Masquerading as ‘comedy’, his vile streams crossed a dangerous line.

Racial Rants Live to Hundreds, Shared with Thousands

  • Morris used video chat to connect with strangers worldwide.
  • He launched vicious, explicit racist tirades during live streams.
  • Thousands tuned in as streams were broadcast on multiple platforms.
  • Recordings circulated on Telegram, spreading hate wider.

At Manchester Crown Court, Morris was exposed for using blackface, wigs, and props to impersonate others. His disgusting abuse included repeated use of the n-word, mocking George Floyd’s death, and calling black people ‘monkeys’.

Judge Nicholas Dean KC slammed: “This content was truly and deeply shocking. The broadcasts—described as comedy by Morris—were repugnant. The claim this was ‘just comedy’ is frankly absurd. No right-minded person would see any humour here.”

Racism and Disturbing Indecency

Prosecutor Joe Allman revealed Morris targeted victims by race, sexuality, and more, tagging Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ to widen his reach. Over 600 viewers witnessed his hateful slurs live.

Alongside racial hatred, Morris admitted to filming himself having sex with a 17-year-old girl and briefly sharing the indecent image online.

Defence lawyer Nick Clarke said: “Morris had a very difficult upbringing, losing his mother at 15 and living in foster care. His only prior job was as a social media manager, where he became skilled at IT.”

Judge Delivers Heavy Sentence for ‘Extremely Serious Conduct’

Judge Dean sentenced Morris to 47 months in prison. Morris pleaded guilty to:

  • Two counts of stirring up racial hatred
  • One count of distributing an indecent image of a child
  • One count of possessing an extreme pornographic image

The judge dismissed Morris’s claim that his hateful rants were ‘comedy’. The court proved otherwise: these broadcasts were vile, hateful, and completely unacceptable.
