Woman in Critical Condition After Brutal Daylight Stabbing in South East London

A woman in her 30s remains in a critical state nearly a week after a savage stabbing attack in broad daylight in South East London. The harrowing assault took place on Tuesday, January 16, in Bexley, leaving the community shaken.

Rapid Police Response at Penhill Road

The attack happened just after 4pm, sparking immediate alarm. Police arrived within three minutes on Penhill Road. Officers rushed to give crucial first aid before paramedics took over. The victim was rushed to hospital, where she remains fighting for her life.

Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder

Tony Curant, 33, of Penhill Road, was charged with attempted murder at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 22. Arrested on Saturday, January 20, he has since been remanded in custody. Curant is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, February 5.

Inspector Graham Rickard, leading the inquiry, said: “The victim is known to officers. We continue to carry out inquiries at the scene and in the area.” Residents remain rattled, desperate to understand what sparked such a chilling attack in their neighbourhood.
