Drug Courier Nabbed on M25 with £600k of Cocaine
Russell Dendle’s drug run hit a dead end on April 20, 2022. Police stopped the 30-year-old near the Dartford River Crossing while he was driving a blue Ford Focus.
Officers searched his car and found a whopping 6kg of cocaine hidden in the boot. The haul was valued at a staggering £600,000 – enough to fuel the Essex streets with Class A misery.
Digital Clues Seal Courier’s Fate
Dendle, from Abbey Close in Hullbridge, was arrested on suspicion of drug offences. The Serious and Organized Crime Unit’s digital investigations revealed he knew exactly what he was carrying, confirming he acted as a courier.
At Southend Magistrates’ Court the day after his arrest, Dendle admitted the charges of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Judge Slams Drug Dealer with Four-Year Jail Term
Despite claiming no income, Dendle had planned two summer holidays – to Spain and Mexico. But luxury trips won’t be happening now. Southend Crown Court sentenced him to four years behind bars.
“These drugs, worth £600,000, were destined for the streets of Essex,” said Detective Inspector Yoni Adler.
“Thanks to our efforts, they were intercepted and stopped from harming vulnerable people in our communities.”
Dendle will now serve time while the seized drugs face destruction. The message from Essex’s law enforcement is brutal and clear: if you supply or try to supply drugs here, you will be caught and locked up.
