Man Busted for Co-Op Break-Ins Near Ashford

A man has been charged after a break-in at the Co-Op store in Sellindge, near Ashford. Kent Police were called to the scene shortly after midnight on Monday, 23 September 2024, following reports of a burglary.

Fast Police Action Leads to Arrest

Officers quickly responded, making an arrest nearby. They seized a holdall stuffed with cigarettes, alcohol, and other stolen goods from the scene.

Danny Sharland Faces Multiple Burglary Charges

Danny Sharland, 35, of Beckets Close, Ashford, was charged with burglary and possession of an offensive weapon linked to this incident. He also faces charges over a previous break-in at another Co-Op on Faversham Road in Kennington on 29 August 2024.

Remanded to Crown Court

Sharland appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 24 September and was remanded in custody. He is due to face Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, 28 October.
