Police on patrol in Nackington caught Joseph Yates, 32, sprinting away from a business property as its intruder alarm blared in the early hours of Thursday, 24 August 2023.
Forced Entry But No Theft
Officers later found that Yates had forced his way into a storeroom. Miraculously, nothing was stolen during the break-in attempt.
Dramatic Hide-and-Seek Ends with Arrest
Yates fled into a dense field near Langton Lane, vanishing from sight. He remained hidden until the arrival of dog handler PC Lisa Milligan and her canine partner, who tracked him down successfully.
When officers searched a nearby vehicle, they discovered a pair of bolt croppers and other burglary tools, confirming Yates’ intent.
