Teenager Dies After Horror Crash on Bradford Road

A 15-year-old boy has tragically died in a smash on Bradford Road, Eccleshill, West Yorkshire. The fatal collision happened just before 10:45pm on Friday, 4 April 2025, shaking the local community to its core and sparking a police probe.

The Shock Collision

Christopher Dobson was hit by a black Volkswagen Golf GTI while crossing near the McDonald’s close to Five Lane Ends. Emergency teams rushed him to hospital, but sadly he passed away shortly after midnight on 5 April.

The driver, a 35-year-old man, stayed at the scene. He was arrested for causing death by dangerous driving and suspected drug-driving. He has since been bailed as the investigation continues.

Family Pay Heartbreaking Tribute

“Christopher was a gentle giant, loved by all who knew him. He was the best son, grandson, brother, and nephew you could ask for. Though Christopher’s life was cut short, the love, kindness, and joy he shared will never be forgotten.”

The family thanked emergency services and the community for their “overwhelming support” and asked for privacy during their grief.

Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward

The Major Collision Enquiry Team is leading the investigation. Detective Inspector Paul Conroy called it a “very serious collision” and pleaded for witnesses to come forward.

“We want to support Christopher’s parents and urge anyone who saw the black VW Golf or the teenager before the crash to contact us. CCTV or dashcam footage could be vital.”
