Teens Toss £500 Chair from Westfield Stratford City – Nearly Kill Shopper!

Shocking Video Shows Chair Hurled From Third Floor

Two schoolboys, aged 14 and 15, have denied charges after dangerously throwing a large chair from the third floor of Westfield Stratford City. The hefty four-foot-wide seat narrowly missed a shopper below in a terrifying moment caught on camera and blown up all over social media.

The incident happened on March 1, but the youths appeared at Stratford Youth Court on May 21, where they pleaded not guilty to criminal damage “with recklessness.”

Disturbing Clip Goes Viral on TikTok and Snapchat

Footage shows one boy dropping the £500 chair from a 50-foot height while the other films. The chair smashed on the ground just inches from a man walking underneath, sparking horrified reactions in the background.

“There’s no way this guy’s doing this, oh my God,” a bystander shouts in the video. The clip’s caption warns: “No way bro almost killed someone.”

The chair was completely destroyed in the fall.

Prosecutor Slams ‘Reckless’ Social Media Stunt

Prosecutor Matthew Groves told the court:

“One of the boys picked up the large chair and threw it 50 feet down while being filmed by the other. The incident was filmed by agreement with a view to posting it online.”

The Crown argues the pair showed blatant disregard for human life by risking serious injury or death.

Youths on Bail with Strict Orders – Trial Looms

Both boys, whose names are protected due to their age, face charges of damaging and attempting to destroy property amid fears their recklessness could have caused fatal harm.

They have been released on bail, forbidden from contacting one another or returning to the Westfield Stratford City mall.

The case has sparked fury online, with many demanding tough action after the footage went viral and drew widespread condemnation.

What’s Next?

The legal battle will continue later this year when the case returns to Stratford Youth Court for a full hearing.
