Tragedy struck in South Shields just before 1am on Saturday when Faisel David Ames Abdou, 25, was found with fatal stab wounds at a home on Marshall Wallis Road. Despite emergency services rushing him to hospital, Faisel – affectionately known as Fise – died hours later.

Devastated Family Mourns ‘Kindest Boy’

Fise’s family released a heart-breaking statement: “Fise was a loving son, brother, uncle and best friend. He was so loved and the hole left in our lives can never ever be filled. He was the kindest boy and would help anyone he could. We are all truly devastated.”

Five Men Arrested Over Murder Investigation

  • Police have arrested five men aged between 19 and 32 on suspicion of murder.
  • Four remain in custody, while a 24-year-old has been released on bail.
  • Two additional men, 33 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
  • The 33-year-old remains held; the 35-year-old has been bailed.

Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Woods, leading the probe, urged the public to come forward. He said:

“This was a tragic incident which has sadly resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man who had his whole life ahead of him. Our thoughts remain with Fise’s loved ones. The family have asked for privacy as they grieve. We are committed to uncovering how this happened and bringing those responsible to justice. Anyone with information, including CCTV, dashcam or phone footage, no matter how small, could be vital. Please speak to an officer or contact us anonymously.”

Extra police patrols have been put on in the area as the investigation continues.
