Hidden Basement Discovered With Over 1,000 Cannabis Plants

Officers found a cleverly concealed entrance behind a false wall leading down to a basement packed with more than 1,000 cannabis plants. The meticulously grown crop revealed a large-scale operation aimed at pumping out significant amounts of the illegal drug.

Gjergji Denied Charges But Found Guilty at Woolwich Crown Court

Gjergji was charged with producing cannabis, which he initially denied. However, after a trial at Woolwich Crown Court, he was found guilty. On August 9, 2024, he was sentenced to four years and six months behind bars.

Police Praise Operation for Keeping Drugs Off Kent Streets

“He went to great lengths to conceal what he was doing, but our officers located the false wall and ensured these drugs did not reach the streets of Kent,” said Detective Constable Lucy Baker, who led the investigation.

“His sentence may seem lengthy, but it reflects the real harm organised criminals cause to families, drug users, and communities alike.”

This successful police operation highlights the commitment of local law enforcement to cracking down on drug crime and protecting communities from the dangerous impact of illegal substances.
