Two Officers Hurt After Violent Motorcycle Stop in Croydon

Detectives want witnesses after two police officers were injured tackling a violent motorcyclist in Croydon.

Drama at Cherry Tree Green

At around 10am on Thursday, 30 December, officers from the Met’s South Area Command Safer Transport Team pulled over a 23-year-old man riding a motorcycle at Cherry Tree Green.

The rider turned aggressive during the stop. Police had to deploy a Taser before detaining him. A knife was found at the scene.

Officers Suffer Serious Injuries

  • One officer suffered a concussion
  • The other has a suspected fracture

The 23-year-old has since been charged in connection with the incident.
