Man Charged After Brutal Pub Garden Attack in Hythe

A violent assault in Hythe has landed a man behind bars after a victim was left seriously injured.

Fury Erupts in Seabrook Road Pub Garden

Just after 11:20 pm on Friday, May 27, chaos broke out in a pub garden on Seabrook Road. A man was brutally struck in the face, suffering a serious head injury.

Victim Airlifted to London Hospital

Emergency crews rushed to the scene before flying the victim to a London hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Suspect Apprehended and Charged

Kent Police acted swiftly, arresting 33-year-old Mathew Chapman in Folkestone roughly an hour after the attack. He has been charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Chapman appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 30, and was granted bail ahead of a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court.
