Copper Piping Stolen During Industrial Burglary

A bag of copper piping was found following a daring burglary in Canterbury. Kent Police sprang into action after a business reported thousands of pounds worth of damage at an industrial park on Island Road, Hersden.

Police Helicopter and Dog Track Down Suspects

The incident happened around 10pm on Saturday, 5 February 2022. Officers, backed by a police helicopter and Police Dog Yoofoo, searched nearby marshland and caught three men linked to the crime. The stolen copper piping was recovered at the scene.

Three Men Charged and Remanded in Custody

  • Costel Coscodaru, 25
  • Marih Gigel Ilihca, 39
  • Mihai Florin, 18

All three men, with no fixed addresses, were charged with burglary. They appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 February 2022, and were remanded in custody ahead of their next hearing on 7 March 2022.
