Three Drug Dealers Sentenced for Peddling to Kids in Enfield and Barnet
Three men caught selling drugs to young people and girls in Enfield and Barnet have finally been sentenced at the Old Bailey today (Friday, 11 May).
Dealer Jailed, Two Get Suspended Sentences
- Phillip Amoah, 25, of Chase Side, Enfield, got three years behind bars after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.
- Mehmet Haksoy, 18, from Pickard Close, Enfield, received a six-month suspended sentence, 20 days rehabilitation, a criminal behaviour order, and 50 hours unpaid work.
- Houston Ghandi, 20, also from Chase Side, Enfield, got a six-month suspended sentence plus 50 hours unpaid work for similar charges.
Operation Targets Child Sexual Exploitation and Drugs
The sentences come after a Met Police investigation by the Child Sexual Exploitation Team revealed these dealers were supplying drugs to vulnerable underage girls. Neighbours reported missing girls and drug abuse signs.
“Our investigation discovered they were supplying drugs to children under 18 and we did everything to stop this,” said Detective Constable Phillipa Kenwright. “One dealer is now behind bars, while the others face serious community punishments.”
Police Raids Uncover Stash and Cash
On 24 October, after police surveillance caught daily drug deals, officers raided two addresses in Pickard Close and Chase Side, Enfield.
- Ghandi was found asleep during the raid, with herbal cannabis, cutting agents, scales, and self-sealing bags seized from his room.
- Amoah’s car was searched and found with cannabis, linking him to the crimes. He was arrested in Essex on 18 November.
- Haksoy’s home search uncovered £2,400 cash, herbal cannabis, gloves, scales, and packaging materials. He was arrested on-site.
Drugs Worth Over £10,000 Seized
Amoah was additionally charged after being stopped with two underage girls in Southgate and found with cocaine worth thousands.
The operation’s total street value of drugs seized tops £10,000, putting a serious dent in the local drug trade targeting children.
