Three Jailed Over Southport Violent Disorder
Three men have been locked up for a total of nearly seven years following violent disorder in Southport. The trio was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, August 27.
Violence Sparks Jail Time
Mark Blanchard, 37, Carlos McStravock, 33, and Max Higson, 22, all pleaded guilty to violent disorder related to disturbances that shook Southport after local murders. Their prison terms range from two to two and a half years, reflecting their roles in the chaos that gripped the community.

- Carlos McStravock, 33, Middle Way, Croxteth: 2 years 4 months

Police Praise Public as Investigation Grows
Assistant Chief Constable Paul White condemned the violence, saying: “These men brought fear and harm to a community already reeling from the murders of Alice, Elsie, and Bebe.”
ACC White revealed that 33 people have now been convicted over the Merseyside disorder. Police continue to examine vast video footage from Southport and Liverpool, with more arrests on the horizon.
He also thanked the public for their vital help, urging them to keep coming forward with information. “Together, we can take robust action against those responsible for the senseless violence witnessed in Merseyside,” the ACC added.
