A fierce fire ripped through a beloved local beekeeper’s outbuildings in Staplehurst, wiping out years of specialist equipment. The blaze erupted just after 3pm on Sunday, 27 July, sparking a major emergency response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
Major Fire Erupts on Green Lane
Reports came in at 15:14 of a fire engulfing an outbuilding and nearby vegetation on Green Lane. Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier raced to the scene. Fire crews battled the flames with powerful main jets to bring the blaze under control.
“No injuries have been reported, and the cause is currently unknown,” confirmed Five 123’s update on the incident.
Extensive Damage to Beekeeping Gear
The fire caused extensive damage to the outbuilding and the valuable beekeeper’s equipment stored inside. The hobbyist, well-known and loved in the community, now faces the challenging task of replacing everything lost in the inferno.
