Knife-wielding gang nabbed after daring phone shop heist
Robbers jailed at Woolwich Crown Court
Three men have been locked up for armed robbery after targeting a mobile phone shop. On Tuesday, 12 March, Woolwich Crown Court sentenced the trio for the brazen daylight raid.
- Max Dudley, 27, no fixed address – five years behind bars
- Aaron Leonce, 26, no fixed address – four years imprisonment
- Sean Beechinor, 31, no fixed address – jailed for four years
Knife threat and smash-and-grab spree
The criminals stormed the Westway Cross Retail Centre store at around 3.30pm on 15 March 2018. Brandishing a knife, they threatened shop staff before using tools to rip phones from the displays, making off with thousands of pounds’ worth of tech.
CCTV evidence led to fast arrests
Detective Constable Tom Henley from the West Area Command Unit said: “These men used a knife to intimidate a member of staff before stealing thousands of pounds worth of mobile phones. However, we were quickly able to identify them and they now begin lengthy prison sentences.”
The entire robbery was caught on CCTV. Images were swiftly circulated to officers across the Met, leading to the suspects’ rapid arrest.
