Brutal Flat Break-In: Gang Kicks Down Door and Terrorises Victims
Four men violently broke into a flat in The Cockpit by kicking down the front door. They terrorised the people inside in a chilling night of violence on 5 January 2024.
Stabbing and Hostage Drama
The gang – Hassan Abdullah, Emran Ahmed, Shah Ali, and a 15-year-old boy – forced their way inside. A man tried to stop them but was stabbed in the arm. He escaped by jumping through a window to call for help.
Inside, the thugs held a woman at knifepoint, pressing a smaller blade to her throat and demanding cash. They fled after stealing cash and a bank card.
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrests
Police arrived at the scene at 11.20pm. Within an hour, officers located Abdullah, Ahmed, and the teenage boy near the train station. Shah Ali was arrested the next day. All four were charged.

Police Statement
Detective Constable Hayley Campbell slammed the gang’s savage attack. “These men showed no hesitation in using extreme violence without any provocation,” she said. “The victim suffered several wounds, including one that narrowly missed a major artery. They made threats to kill the woman held at knifepoint.”
“The evidence was overwhelming. Police quickly tracked down the suspects and recovered the stolen bank card near their arrest site. No one should fear for their safety at home. These violent offenders have now been brought to justice.”
