Young Man Lured and Stabbed in Ruthless Roehampton Attack

A gang tricked 24-year-old Abdirizak Hassan, known as Abdi, into a fatal trap in Roehampton in May 2021. They lured him to a flat where he was brutally ambushed and stabbed in the chest.

Three Teenagers Found Guilty in Court

  • Elijah Roye, 18, from Wandsworth, was convicted of murder.
  • Muhammed Danso, 18, from Bexley, and a 15-year-old boy were cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter.
  • All three were convicted at Kingston Crown Court on 27 May and will be sentenced on 29 July.

Chilling Details of the Attack

Police were called on 6 May 2021 after Abdi was found seriously injured at a block of flats in Dowdeswell Close, SW15. He had been attacked the day before.

Investigators uncovered that the gang used the phone of a vulnerable woman who owned the property to lure Abdi. They made her tell him she wanted to buy drugs, baiting him into the deadly trap at 5:20pm on 5 May.

The brutal attack lasted several minutes before the attackers fled separately, captured on CCTV leaving the scene.

Family and Police React

“Abdi was a well-loved son, brother, and friend. He was funny, clever, compassionate and big-hearted. We miss him dearly and will cherish our memories forever,” said his family.

Detective Inspector Adam Guttridge said: “This tragic case shows the devastating impact drugs have on young lives. Our meticulous investigation using CCTV and phone data has brought three dangerous individuals to justice. We thank the brave witnesses who helped us. While this verdict can’t bring Abdi back, we hope it offers some closure to his family.”
