Cop Caught in Sick Child Sex Chat Sting
A Staffordshire Police officer has been convicted for trying to engage in sexual chats with a child and for producing indecent images. PC Lee Tatton, 54, from the force’s Northern Resolution Centre, admitted guilt at Birmingham Crown Court.
Shocking Arrest
Tatton was snapped up on December 10, 2019, by the force’s own Operation Safenet team. He was instantly suspended and remains off-duty as internal disciplinary action looms.
Top Brass Condemn Actions
Assistant Chief Constable Scott Green slammed Tatton’s behaviour. “His actions are unacceptable and have caused harm and distress to the very people we should be protecting,” he said. “Tatton’s conduct fell far short of the standards the public and police expect.”
Sentencing Date Set
Lee Tatton is due to be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on November 2. The case highlights ongoing challenges policing faces in rooting out abuse within its ranks.
