Two Teens Arrested After Brutal Attack in Oxford Playground

Two 18-year-olds from Oxford and Reading were arrested on Saturday over a savage assault that left a 19-year-old fighting for his life.

Both suspects have been released on police bail until 3 October as the investigation continues.

Serious Injuries After Midnight Attack

The attack happened just after midnight on Friday, near a children’s play park in the playing fields bordered by Croft Road, Rippington Drive, and Old Marston Road.

The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries. Police revealed he suffered a fractured skull, a bleed on the brain, and a broken rib – but thankfully no broken neck.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV

Detective Constable Vicki Reynolds from Oxford CID urged anyone who saw the incident or has footage to come forward.

“This was a particularly violent assault and has left a 19-year-old with extensive injuries,” she said. “I’m keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or doorbell camera footage around the park between 11pm Thursday and 1am Friday.”
