Two Teens Arrested After Brutal Attack Near Oxford Play Park

Two 18-year-olds from Oxford and Reading were arrested on Saturday for allegedly causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Both suspects have been released on police bail until 3 October.

19-Year-Old Hospitalised with Serious Injuries

The arrests follow a vicious assault just after midnight on Friday, 4 September. The victim, a 19-year-old man, was attacked near a children’s play park in the playing fields between Croft Road, Rippington Drive, and Old Marston Road.

He remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage

“This was a particularly violent assault and has left a teenager with extensive injuries,” said Detective Constable Vicki Reynolds of Oxford CID.

“Thankfully, he doesn’t have a broken neck, but he has a fractured skull, a bleed on the brain, and a broken rib.”

“I’m urging anyone who witnessed the attack or has CCTV or doorbell footage from the area between 11pm Thursday and 1am Friday to come forward.”
