Teen Knifemen Jailed After Brutal Stabbing in Taunton
Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, have been locked up for stabbing a man in a shocking attack on Colin Road, Taunton. The youths, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were found guilty of wounding with intent at Taunton Crown Court.
Victim Left Scarred After Unprovoked Attack
The victim, a man in his 30s, was stabbed in the chest and shoulder during the violent confrontation. He was rushed to hospital but has since returned home. Despite recovering physically, the ordeal has left a lasting scar on his life.
Investigating officer Kerry Stone revealed:
“This unprovoked attack left the victim terrified and he now avoids walking home alone at night. He was extremely fortunate not to have suffered more serious injuries.”
Police Crackdown on Knife Crime Intensifies
Stone added the force is committed to stamping out knife crime through relentless pursuit of offenders and smart policing tactics.
“The effects of knife crime on victims and our communities are life changing. We work tirelessly to identify and prosecute those involved, including increased high visibility patrols in nightlife areas and intelligence-led action against habitual knife carriers.”
Stone stressed that enforcement alone isn’t enough:
“We also partner with agencies to educate and engage young people most at risk of serious violence. This sentence sends a clear message: do not carry knives.”
The pair were sentenced on Friday, 3 November — a stark reminder that carrying knives has devastating consequences.
