Big Congleton Drug Dealers Busted and Jailed
A man and woman caught selling Class A and B drugs in Congleton have been locked up. Robert Machin, 49, and Sophie Brown, 22, admitted dealing cocaine, heroin, and cannabis.
Dramatic Police Raid Ends in Daring Escape
On 2 December 2025, Cheshire police’s Op Apollo team raided a property on Bradwell Grove. Officers found Machin and Brown inside. But Machin made a bold escape, climbing a fence with the help of ladders!
Police seized phones, laptops, SIM cards, a USB stick, drugs worth £11,415 at street value, drug paraphernalia, and £1,006 in cash.
Manhunt After Escape Ends with Jail Time
Brown was arrested on the spot. Machin went on the run but was caught in a follow-up raid on Canal Street nine days later, on 11 December.
At Chester Crown Court on 18 March 2026, Brown was jailed for four years. Machin got five years and 219 days behind bars.
