Great-Grandma Mauled by Escaped Dogs in Horrific Attack

Lucille Downer, 85, was viciously attacked by two escaped dogs on Friday afternoon in Rowley Regis. The great-grandmother suffered multiple injuries in the shocking assault on Boundary Avenue, West Midlands Police confirmed on Saturday.

Dogs ‘Humanely Destroyed’ After Brutal Attack

The two dogs involved have now been humanely destroyed following specialist advice. Authorities determined the animals could never be rehomed due to their violent behaviour. Ownership was voluntarily transferred to the police, ending the dogs’ reign of terror.

Owner Arrested Over Dangerous Dogs, Now on Bail

The previous owner, a 43-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of dogs dangerously out of control, causing injury. He has since been released on conditional bail while police continue their investigation.
