Miracle Escape: Two Walk Away From Plane Crash Near Winchester
Two lucky souls walked away with just minor injuries after their small plane smashed into trees near a village on the outskirts of Winchester this Saturday afternoon, July 14.
Crash in the Woods Sparks Emergency Response
Emergency crews rushed to the scene just after 3.10pm, with fire crews from Winchester, Eastleigh, Redbridge, and Bishop’s Waltham all joining the rescue effort. The plane had come down in a densely wooded area, which police quickly cordoned off. Both pilot and passenger managed to escape the crash, receiving treatment from South Central Ambulance Service.
Lucky to Be Alive, Say First Responders
“The pilot and passenger are two of the luckiest people in the UK,” said one shocked officer at the scene. “They walked away with only scratches. They definitely should buy lottery tickets tonight.”
Investigation Underway
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has been notified and will investigate the cause of the crash. Police continue to secure the area as details emerge.
