Two Charged with Murder and Attempted Murder
A deadly shooting outside the Anchor Inn on West Granton Road has shocked Edinburgh. Marc Webley, 38, was fatally shot just before midnight on Hogmanay and later died in hospital.
Grant Hunter, 32, and Emma McVie, 25, both from Edinburgh, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday. Neither entered a plea. They face charges of murder, attempted murder, and assault causing serious injury and danger to life.
Another Victim Seriously Injured
A 39-year-old man was also hurt in the shooting and is currently receiving hospital treatment. Meanwhile, police confirmed a 33-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the attack.
Ongoing Police Investigation
Hunter and McVie have been remanded in custody as investigations continue. Police say inquiries are ongoing to uncover all the details behind the tragic incident that cast a shadow over Edinburgh’s New Year celebrations.
