Northampton Drug Dealers Busted in County Lines Crackdown
On October 11, 2022, cops swooped on a property in The Briars, Briar Hill, Northampton. The raid was part of a crackdown on county lines drug dealing.
Crack Cocaine and Cocaine Ringleaders Nabbed
Officers found 60 wraps of crack cocaine worth around £600. Two men were arrested: 21-year-old Pedro Armando and 22-year-old Abdul Hassan.
Investigations showed the duo had been running a drug operation between London and Northampton since April. They transported heroin and cocaine to Northampton and sold it via text messages to local users.
The Cuckooing Tactic Exposed
Armando and Hassan had taken over the Briars house to use as their base, a method called cuckooing – exploiting a property for drug dealing activities.
Justice Served: Jail Time for Dealers
Northamptonshire Police charged both men with supply offences covering April to October 2022. Both pled guilty.
On February 17, at Northampton Crown Court, Armando of Brandon Street, Southwark, London, was jailed for three and a half years. Hassan, from Linscott Road, Hackney, London, got five and a half years behind bars.
Detective Sergeant Torie Harrison said: “Tackling drug harm is a priority for Northamptonshire Police. I’m pleased our investigation has landed prison sentences for Hassan and Armando.”
“They targeted vulnerable users and fuelled drug-related crime. Instead of counting cash, they’ll now be counting days behind bars.”
“Their guilty pleas show our evidence was rock solid. These sentences send a strong message to anyone selling drugs in our county.”
