Drug Dealers Busted in Brighton: Big Jail Time for One, Suspended Sentence for the Other
Caught Red-Handed in the Street
Aiden Dore, 23, from Mount Pleasant, and Daniel Smith, 40, of Lower Rock Gardens, have both admitted to supplying Class A drugs. Police caught the pair dealing drugs on the street back in August 2020 and swiftly arrested them.
Drugs and Dealing Gear Found in Flat Search
Following their arrest, officers raided a flat in Lower Rock Gardens. Inside, they found a stash of drugs, burner phones, cash, and dealing equipment – all evidence pointing to their illegal operation.
Heavy Sentence for Dore, Lighter for Smith
Dore received a hefty four-and-a-half-year jail sentence at Lewes Crown Court on June 30. Smith, who played a smaller role, was handed a two-year suspended sentence and fined £500.
The judge slammed their actions as “a filthy trade that wrecks people’s lives.”
Police Vow to Crack Down on Drug Crime
Detective Inspector Dee Wells of Brighton’s Community Investigation Team warned: “The illegal drug trade has a massive impact in our city—not just through harmful drugs but also the violence and exploitation that comes with it.”
She added, “We won’t stop targeting those who deal and harm our communities. We’ll keep working with partners to tackle the root causes of drug misuse and make Brighton and Hove safer.”
