Stabbing Shocker in Rochester Flat

At 5.30pm on Thursday, July 7, a sharp-eyed member of the public spotted blood splattered on a flat’s front door in The Fairway, Rochester, and quickly alerted Kent Police.

Man Found with Stab Wounds

Officers rushed to the scene and found a man seriously injured with stab wounds to his head and hand, along with other assault marks. He was promptly taken to hospital and remains there under medical care.

Two Arrested and Charged

Police arrested two men as part of the assault probe. Lewis Barovbe, 25, homeless, and 32-year-old Stephen Gillard of Trevale Road, Rochester, were charged with grievous bodily harm with intent on Monday, July 11.

Court Appearances Set

Both suspects faced Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 12, before being remanded to Maidstone Crown Court with a hearing set for Monday, August 8.
