Flash Fire at Derelict Ealing Home Sparks Midnight Drama
Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters raced to a blaze at a derelict house on Charlbury Grove, Ealing in the early hours.
Quick Rescue on Burning Stairs
A small fire damaged part of the ground floor, but the situation was urgent. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus braved the smoke to rescue one woman and two men trapped inside. They were evacuated via an internal staircase and rushed to hospital by ambulance crews.
Sub Officer Mark Aston-O’Donovan said: “Neighbours in the surrounding area raised the alarm and called 999. On arrival, crews found a small fire on the stairs on the ground floor of the property and rescued a woman and two men who were still inside the building.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
