Knife Attack Thugs Land Jail Time After Brutal Stabbing
Sami Sarout, 28, with no fixed address, was slammed with a hefty prison sentence yesterday at St Albans Crown Court. He’ll spend five years and 10 months behind bars after being found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent (Section 18 GBH).
Not far behind, Ali Mohammed, 21, formerly of Milling Road, Edgware, got two years and nine months. He was convicted of Section 20 GBH, robbery, perverting the course of justice, and breaching a Community Protection Notice (CPN).
Brutal Break-In and Stabbing at Beechen Grove Flat
The shocking attack went down on the evening of Monday, 18 November 2019. Sarout and Mohammed forced their way into a flat off Beechen Grove and stabbed two residents. Police arrived too late — the pair had already fled the scene.
Both men were later arrested, charged, and remanded in custody following the violent raid.
Police Warning: Knife Crime Will Not Be Tolerated
Detective Constable George Lewin from Watford Local Crime Unit said: “This was a challenging investigation, but the jury deliberated for just one hour and 20 minutes before delivering guilty verdicts for both defendants.
“At the time, Mohammed was under a Community Protection Notice banning him from entering Watford. He showed blatant disregard for the law, travelling with Sarout to carry out this brutal attack.
“Let this sentence be a warning: carrying or using a knife in Watford will land you in court. We will relentlessly pursue offenders and ensure justice is served.”
