Teen Stabbed Multiple Times in Shocking Essex Attack
On Tuesday, 9 January, Essex Police were called to Queen Street, Colchester, after a 16-year-old boy suffered serious stab wounds.
Life-Saving Treatment and Dramatic Escape
The teenager was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, after urgent medical care, he has made a full recovery.
CCTV showed the victim had been in a heated argument with two men inside Pepes Chicken Shop just before 6:30pm. During the dispute, he was stabbed several times before fleeing onto the street for help.
Two Men Arrested and Charged
Police investigation quickly led to the arrest of 19-year-old Kaya Adu and 21-year-old Rushi Jadeja on 13 January. Both men face charges of attempted murder. Adu is additionally charged with possession of an offensive weapon in public.
Court Sentencing: Years Behind Bars Await
At Chelmsford Crown Court on 9 April, both men pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent. Today (4 June), they were sentenced to six years and nine months in prison. Adu will serve an additional three years on licence after release.
