Two men charged after brutal assault leaves Canterbury man fighting for life

Kent Police rushed to Canterbury’s High Street near Guildhall Street at 1am on Tuesday, 1 September 2020, following reports of a violent assault.

Victim in 60s suffers serious head injuries

The victim, a man in his 60s, was found with serious head wounds. He was rushed to hospital, where he remains in treatment.

Suspects charged and due in court

Two men have now been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

  • Serhat Yalcin, 25, from Ramsgate
  • Agid Yalcin, 20, from Ashford

Both are set to appear via video link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 2 September.
