Couple Busted with Half a Kilo of Cannabis in Swindon Drug Raid
Mitchell Hicks, 30, and Chloe Dempster, 33, both from Bladen Close, Wroughton, have been nailed for running a cannabis supply operation from their home.
Nearly Three Years Behind Bars for Drug Deal
Hicks copped a hefty jail term of two years and 11 months after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis and handling criminal property. His partner Dempster received a four-month suspended sentence after admitting to allowing their home to be used for drug supply and handling criminal property.
Big Haul Found in Police Warrant
On February 4, 2021, police swooped on the couple’s address after intelligence tipped off about drug dealing. Officers seized over half a kilo of cannabis, split into street-ready portions, along with drug paraphernalia, cash, and several mobile phones.
Cop Calls Out Swindon Dealers
“Hicks and his partner Dempster were storing large amounts of cannabis at their address and not only receiving cash payments but also a large amount of third party payments through illegal means,” said PC Caldwell.
“They were well-established drug dealers supplying class B drugs on the streets of Swindon. Illegal drugs harm not just users but also the wider community.”
“Both Hicks and Dempster have been reaping financial rewards while making no positive contribution to society. I’m pleased our probe has landed them in court.”
