Teen Stabbed in Brutal Westgate Street Attack
A shocking stabbing unfolded on Westgate Street at around 3.35pm on Tuesday, January 17, when two males launched a vicious attack on an 18-year-old victim.
Suspects Charged After Fatal Knife Attack
The victim was stabbed multiple times. One attacker chased and threatened him with a knife, but the young man managed to escape. Tragically, James later died from four stab wounds to the torso, police confirmed.
Two Teenagers Arrested and Charged
Following a thorough investigation, officers arrested two teenage boys on Saturday, January 21. Alfie Hammett, 18, from Rushmere St Andrew, and a 17-year-old from the local area are now charged with murder and carrying an offensive weapon in public.
Ongoing Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses
The Coroner is currently probing the cause of death. Police urge anyone with information to call 101, quoting CAD 1373/20Jan.
