Folkestone thug Bradley Cooper locked up for vicious town centre assault
Brutal attack on busy Sandgate Road
Bradley Cooper, 37, was sentenced to nearly three years in jail after unleashing a savage assault on an innocent pedestrian in Folkestone town centre. The violent incident happened on Sandgate Road just after 9am on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
Witnesses say Cooper launched into his victim with punches and bites, pinning him down as the attack escalated. The victim, simply passing through, suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
History of violence
Shockingly, this was not the first clash between Cooper and the victim. A previous altercation occurred just two days earlier on September 10, showing a disturbing pattern of hostility.
Quick police response and justice served
Officers swiftly arrested Cooper, who faced a slew of charges – including racially aggravated assault, harassment, and even assault on an emergency worker back in March 2023. On Monday, February 19, Canterbury Crown Court handed him a hefty 2-year 8-month prison sentence.
Detective Constable Charlotte Tracey said: “This horrendous assault won’t be tolerated on our streets. I’m pleased this violent offender has been jailed. The sentence should send a clear message about the consequences of such behaviour.”
She also praised witnesses whose testimonies were key to securing Cooper’s conviction. “Community cooperation is vital to hold criminals accountable,” Tracey added.
